Fire breaks out in meter box room at Thane residential building

A fire broke out in the meter box room of a residential building in Thane on Thursday afternoon. No injuries were reported in the incident, according to officials from the Thane Municipal Corporation`s Disaster Management Cell.

Incident Reported at Kashish Park

The fire was reported at around 12:02 pm at Ganesh Krupa Society, a ground-plus-seven-storey residential building located in the Kashish Park area on Lal Bahadur Shastri Road near Teen Hath Naka in Thane West.

Authorities said the blaze was confined to the meter box room, where electrical wiring was affected.

Emergency Teams Respond Swiftly

Following the alert, personnel from the Thane Municipal Corporation`s Disaster Management Cell reached the spot with a pickup vehicle. Fire Brigade teams, equipped with a fire engine and a rescue vehicle, also responded to the incident.

Employees of the electricity distribution company were present at the site to assist with the operation. Local corporator Namrata Bhosale also visited the location.

Power Supply Disconnected, Fire Brought Under Control

As a precautionary measure, the electricity supply to the building was disconnected by power utility staff. Firefighters, along with Disaster Management Cell personnel, subsequently brought the blaze under control and completely extinguished it.

Officials confirmed that no residents were injured and no casualties were reported in the incident.

Fire at residential building in Juhu area; no casualties

In another incident, a fire broke out in an air-conditioning unit at an 11-storey residential building in the upscale Juhu area of Mumbai on Thursday morning, officials said.

No casualties were reported so far, they said.

As per preliminary information, the blaze erupted in the Manisha Building located near Arogya Nidhi Hospital and was reported at 7.43 am.

The fire was confined to an AC unit on the building`s sixth floor, an official said.

No injuries were reported in the incident, the official said.

At least four fire engines and other firefighting vehicles were rushed to the spot. Firefighting efforts were underway, a civic official said.

Personnel from the police, a private electricity company, the ward office and ambulance service were mobilised.
