Advocate Abhishek Mishra, representing Satish Salian, father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, has sought immediate security for his client, members of his legal team, and material witnesses in connection with the ongoing investigation into allegations surrounding her death.

In a representation dated September 26 addressed to the President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mishra sought a comprehensive threat assessment and adequate protection for those associated with the case.

Independent inquiry
The advocate also sought an independent inquiry into the alleged failure of Mumbai Police to provide adequate protection despite repeated complaints and claimed threats. He further requested that police officers whose conduct forms part of the investigation or the earlier inquiry be transferred outside Mumbai during the pendency of the probe, alleging that their continued presence could raise concerns about interference with witnesses or evidence.
Threat perception
Mishra said the representation, along with earlier complaints regarding alleged threats, should be taken on record as material reflecting the claimed threat perception. He also urged the authorities to ensure that no officer whose conduct is under scrutiny has direct or indirect control over witnesses, evidence or security arrangements. The representation names Satish Salian, advocate Nilesh C Ojha and other individuals as persons requiring immediate and independent threat assessment, according to Mishra. It also refers to alleged intimidating statements by political workers and associates of persons named in the investigation and seeks appropriate action wherever the material discloses an offence.
Protective directions
Mishra has also requested the Central Bureau of Investigation to approach the competent court for protective directions if it encounters intimidation, obstruction or interference during the investigation. If circumstances warrant, he has sought proceedings for transferring the investigation outside Maharashtra to ensure a free and fair probe.
