As many as 376 Govindas were injured during Dahi Handi festivities in Mumbai, according to data compiled from various government and BMC hospitals up to 8 am on September 6.
Of the 376 injured, 53 remain admitted to hospitals, while 37 are undergoing treatment. A total of 286 people have been discharged after receiving medical attention, according to the latest figures.
Central Mumbai hospitals report highest number of cases
Hospitals in central Mumbai reported 183 injured Govindas, the highest among the three regions. Of these, 29 were admitted, 23 were under treatment and 131 had been discharged.
Eastern suburbs hospitals reported 62 injured Govindas. Eleven were admitted, while 51 were discharged. No patient was listed as undergoing treatment at the time of the update.
Hospitals in the western suburbs reported 126 injured Govindas. Nine were admitted, 14 were under treatment and 103 had been discharged.
KEM reports 76 injured Govindas
Among individual hospitals, KEM Hospital reported the highest number of injured Govindas, with 76 cases. Eighteen patients were admitted, while 58 were discharged. No patient was listed as undergoing treatment.
Rajawadi Hospital reported 33 injured Govindas, including 15 admissions. The remaining 18 patients were discharged.
HBT Trauma Hospital recorded 34 injured Govindas. Two were admitted and 32 were discharged.
Nair, Sion and other hospitals also report injuries
Nair Hospital reported 32 injured Govindas, of whom three were admitted and 29 were discharged.
Sion Hospital reported 18 injured people. Four were admitted, eight remained under treatment and six were discharged.
BDBA Hospital reported 18 injured Govindas, with two admissions and 16 discharges.
V Desai Hospital reported 33 injured Govindas. All 33 had been discharged, with no patients remaining admitted or under treatment at the time of the update.
The figures cover injuries reported to the authorities by government and BMC hospitals up to 8 am on September 6.
According to a BMC release issued on Friday, more than 100 beds were kept ready at civic hospitals in the city and suburbs for treating injured Govindas.
Health officers and staff have been deployed in three shifts at civic hospitals, while the facilities have been directed to keep adequate stocks of injections, medicines and surgical material ready, the release said.
