Heavy rainfall on Saturday caused severe waterlogging in Bhiwandi area in Maharashtra, following the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) red alert for the district.
The busy Teen Batti Bhaji Market was completely inundated as rainwater flooded the area, disrupting normal business and traffic.
Large sections of the vegetable market were submerged, making it difficult for traders, customers and vehicles to move through the area.
The waterlogged roads also slowed traffic around the market, with commuters facing delays as the heavy rain continued.
The red alert
The IMD had earlier issued a red alert for the district, warning of intense rainfall and the possibility of localised flooding.
The officials have advised residents to remain cautious, avoid flooded areas where possible and follow official weather advisories until conditions improve.
