Mumbai residents will be able to access a range of government services and welfare schemes through a series of special public service camps beginning on Tuesday, July 28.
The initiative, titled the 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajswarajya Samadhan Shibbir Abhiyan', aims to make government services more accessible, particularly for disadvantaged and vulnerable sections of society.
The campaign has been organised to coincide with the birth anniversary of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, an official statement, issued by the Collector's office, said.
Ajit Pawar had passed away in a plane crash. The fatal crash occurred on January 28 when a Learjet 45 aircraft operated by a private company went down near Baramati airport while travelling from Mumbai.
The incident resulted in the death of Ajit Pawar and four others.
Initiative to make govt services more transparent
Officials said the objective is to make the Revenue Department and other government services more transparent, efficient and citizen-friendly by bringing multiple departments together under one roof.
The camps will run from 10 am to 6 pm on selected dates across five Assembly constituencies in Mumbai City.
Residents visiting the camps can receive assistance with several government schemes and public services, including:
- Voter registration for eligible citizens.
- Applications under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana.
- Guidance on the Shravanbal Seva State Old Age Pension Scheme.
- Birth, death and marriage registration certificates issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
- Assistance with ration card-related services.
- Information and support from the Fisheries Department and other government agencies.
Officials said representatives from various state government departments, central government agencies and the BMC will be present to assist the public.

Citizens encouraged to participate
The local administration has urged residents to make full use of the camps, saying they provide an opportunity to complete official formalities, obtain information about welfare schemes and access multiple government services at a single location, the official statement said.
The initiative is expected to benefit senior citizens, first-time voters, low-income families and others seeking assistance with government documentation and welfare programmes, it said.
